The Chinese made M305 comes at a far cheaper price than its Springfield Armory counterpart. The Chinese version is banned in the United States and is, ironically, openly available in Canada

The M14 was the U.S. main battle rifle from 1959-1970 (the shortest life of a service rifle in U.S. history), but remains in service with special forces and honor guards to this day. It was replaced by the AR-15 (M-16) a decision that was often controversial amongst the troops fighting in Vietnam. It is classified as a non-restricted firearm in Canada and is readily & freely available for purchase to anyone with a PAL or FAC.
