AK-47's in Canada
The AK-47 is a Russian made, centerfire assault rifle. It is one of the most produced firearms in history. They have an interesting history in Canada - both legal and otherwise.
Specifications
Country of Origin: USSR
Year of Origin: 1945
Countries of Manufacture: many
Ammunition: 7.65x39mm
Fire Type: Semi Automatic - Fully Automatic
Legal Classification*: Prohibited
If you are a Canadian who wants to posess one, you are mostly out of luck these days. There are those lucky few who have been grandfathered in, but this fine firearm is prohibited. By its barrell length and action, the AK-47 would actually be a non-restricted gun in Canada (if it is semi- auto), but the government has specifically made it prohib.
Buy or Sell
We will not be able to buy or sell the AK-47 or its variants (AK-74, AK-74SU or the AKM in canada) in Canada due to it's prohibited status. We may be able to sell a deactivated AK or two; we will see.
